Includes SAAF decals. The twin-engine Douglas A-20 was set up by the American aviation company to carry out two main operational activities. Its cell, with the characteristic cantilever wing in a medium/high position, could in fact be configured as night fighter and attack aircraft, adopting a powerful weapon system in the front snout, or configured as a light bomber. The light bombardment version achieved significant success are not with the U.S.A.F. but also with the British RAF that renamed the Douglas aircraft “Boston”. The muzzle of the Boston was glazed in order to accommodate the pointer but maintained the solution of the front tricycle trolley, innovative for the time. It could carry up to 1,800 kg of offensive cargo and was produced in a large number of specimens and used by the RAF, numerous Commonwealth air forces and some departments of the Soviet Union air forces.
