Description

Bronco 1/48 Curtiss Tomahawk MK.IIB. Similar to SAAF version

The kit contains 157 parts in medium grey plastic; nine parts in clear plastic; small photo-etched fret with six parts; one decal sheet covering six RAF subjects; 1/48 scale resin figure of Clive Caldwell.

The South African Air Force (SAAF) operated the Curtiss Tomahawk IIB, a variant of the P-40 fighter, extensively during World War II, particularly in the North African and East African campaigns. Units such as No. 5 Squadron SAAF used these rugged, albeit often outmatched, aircraft for fighter and fighter-bomber roles, including notable service in 1942. SAAF flew the Tomahawk Mark IIB, which was the RAF designation for the P-40C.
