Description
The modernized C-130J is the most advanced modification of the C-130 military transport aircraft currently in service with the United States and other countries. Among other improvements, a full aileron remote control system for the aircraft is used here, and four more powerful RR AE 2100D3 turboprop engines than previous modifications enable the aircraft, with a normal takeoff weight of 70,305 kg, to fly “within” a takeoff distance of 1433 m. Construction of the first C-130J aircraft began in March 1994 and first flew on April 5, 1996. Currently, the C-130J remains the only model in production. As of March 2022, 500 C-130Js have been delivered to 22 countries.
