Description
The Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter in South Africa was used by the South African Air Force (SAAF) and potentially the South African Police (SAPS), known for its exceptional Short Take-Off and Landing capabilities. These Swiss-built aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney PT6A engines, served from around 1994-1998 with the SAAF.
The SAAF acquired their PC-6 B2-H4 (Bop DF T-320) when the aircraft of the Boputhatswana Defence Force were incorporated into the SAAF in 1994. The aircraft received SAAF serial 2070 before being transferred to the Police in 1998.
