The South African MB-326K, known locally as the Impala Mk II, was a powerful, single-seat ground-attack variant of the Aermacchi MB-326 jet trainer, locally license-built by Atlas Aircraft Corporation for the South African Air Force (SAAF) from the 1970s. Designed for close air support, it featured substantial upgrades like built-in 30mm DEFA cannons and a significant payload capacity for bombs, rockets, and missiles, proving effective in the Bush War, but its heavy load often impacted speed and agility.
