Description
KzS 8 (full name: Type 2,5-23 KzS 8) is a German fire truck from the Second World War. The car was 5.19 meters long with a width of 2.08 meters and a wheelbase of 3.25 meters. The vehicle was powered by a single 6-cylinder engine with a capacity of 2.47 liters and 55 hp. The maximum speed of the car reached 80 km / h, and its driving range oscillated around 340 kilometers. The KzS-8 fire truck was based on the Opel Type 2.5-32 truck, which was produced at the company’s plants since 1938. The main change was the conversion of the cargo area into a place to transport 8 firefighters and the addition of tool and fire equipment boxes on the sides of the truck. Moreover, each KzS-8 was equipped with a trailer with a pump and fire hoses. Cars of this type were used throughout World War II by the German Feuerschutzpolizei.
