History
The Hawker Sea Fury, renowned as one of the most proficient piston-engine fighters and the last of its kind to join Britain’s Fleet Air Arm, epitomizes the zenith of piston-engine fighter design. Although introduced post-World War II, the Sea Fury engaged in combat with early jet fighters during the Korean War, demonstrating outstanding performance.
The initial deck landing trials took place in the winter of 1946. The Sea Fury served as the primary single-seat fighter for the Fleet Air Arm until 1953, when it was succeeded by the jet-powered Hawker Sea Hawk.
