Description
The Dassault Mirage III is a benchmark of French aviation production. Produced from the early 1960s to equip the departments of the Armée de l’Air, it was immediately extremely effective. It soon became a commercial success and was exported to several countries by participating in several counties during the 1970s and 1980s. Characterized by the unmistakable delta wing, thanks to its Snecma Atar engine with afterburner, to exceed the speed of Mach 2. After the Mirage IIIC, intended for the role of interceptor fighter, the multi-role and ground attack version was developed. Thus was born the Mirage IIIE characterized, from a point of view of the aerodynamic lay-out, by an elongation of the fuselage to allow the improved avionics to be accommodated.
